This polished agate pair features finely layered banding formed from microcrystalline quartz deposits within volcanic cavities over millions of years.

The delicate bands display soft transitions between blush pink, cream, lilac-grey, and warm peach tones, creating a highly detailed natural pattern throughout both slices. The lower sections retain more concentrated fortification-style banding, while the centres soften into broader flowing layers.

One slice also features a small druzy quartz pocket formed during later stages of silica crystallisation, adding subtle sparkle and texture to the polished surface.

The natural outer edge has been preserved, highlighting the original formation shape and contrasting beautifully against the polished interior.

Zhangzhou agates are particularly prized for their intricate banding, symmetry, and pastel colouration, making them highly sought after among collectors.
