Geological Specifications

Mineral: Fluorite

Habit: Cubic Fluorite

Locality: Inner Mongolia, China

This dramatic specimen comes from Inner Mongolia, a locality known for producing striking dark fluorite with exceptional cubic crystal development. Unlike the more colourful fluorites from southern China, these specimens are prized for their bold monochromatic appearance and architectural crystal growth.

The piece is covered in a dense cluster of well-defined cubic fluorite crystals displaying a rich charcoal to near-black colour. Under strong lighting, many of the cubes reveal subtle smoky grey translucency and delicate internal zoning hidden beneath their satin-like surfaces. Multiple generations of crystal growth create an intricate landscape of stacked cubes, stepped faces and sharp geometric edges, giving the specimen remarkable depth and texture.

Its almost metallic appearance and sculptural form make it an outstanding display specimen and a superb example of the diversity found within the fluorite family.

Metaphysical Properties

Dark Fluorite is believed to support:

Grounding and emotional stability.
Mental clarity during periods of change.
Protection from overwhelming or distracting energies.
Focus, organisation and disciplined thinking.
Confidence when making important decisions.

Many collectors are drawn to darker fluorite for its grounding presence while still carrying the clarity traditionally associated with all varieties of fluorite.
