Mineral: Fluorite
Habit: Cubic Fluorite with Quartz ("QR Fluorite")
Locality: Quilong Mine, Guizhou Province, China
This attractive specimen originates from the celebrated Quilong Mine in Guizhou Province, one of China's best-known sources for the material collectors affectionately call QR Fluorite. These specimens are distinguished by softly coloured fluorite cubes accompanied by sparkling quartz, creating a delicate and highly sought-after aesthetic.
This piece features a blanket of soft lilac to pale lavender fluorite cubes, many displaying stepped growth patterns and intricate internal zoning. The crystal faces are gently frosted and interspersed with fine quartz druse that adds a subtle sparkle across the entire specimen. Rich purple phantom-like outlines along the outer edges of several cubes create beautiful contrast against the pastel interior, giving the specimen exceptional visual depth.
The combination of muted colour, intricate crystal growth and shimmering quartz makes QR Fluorite from Quilong one of the most distinctive modern Chinese fluorite finds.
