This elegant specimen comes from the famous Quilong Mine in Guizhou Province, a locality renowned for producing the highly collectible material affectionately known as QR Fluorite. The name "QR" refers to the distinctive association of Quartz and Fluorite, where softly frosted fluorite cubes are nestled amongst sparkling quartz crystals.
This specimen showcases beautiful pastel lavender fluorite cubes with a delicate frosted finish and subtle stepped growth patterns. The cubes are accented by a blanket of fine, sparkling quartz druse, creating wonderful texture and contrast. Gentle iron staining along some crystal edges adds warmth and naturally highlights the cubic habit without detracting from the specimen's soft aesthetic.
Quilong fluorite is particularly prized for its muted colours, sugary quartz coatings and balanced crystal compositions, making each piece both visually striking and highly collectible.
